Mission Statement

 Classes

The mission of the Mark Twain Media Center is to enable students to become effective users of ideas and information and to become lifelong readers.  Students will be exposed to a variety of quality literature in print and digital format. The program will provide educational and technological opportunities to students and staff in keeping with their needs and abilities.

Mrs.Burgert has classes with kindergarten, first, and second graders as part of the ancillary rotation. Third, fourth, and fifth grades have a scheduled time to check out books in the library. Teachers or parent volunteers will check out their book

Policies

  • Kindergarten students check out one book at a time, but parents may check out additional books.
  • First and second graders may have two books at time.
  • Third, fourth, and fifth graders are allowed three books at a time.
  • Students may keep books for two weeks or until their next class in the library. If needed they can be renewed once.  We do not charge overdue fines, but students must return overdue books to get new ones.
  • If a book is lost or damaged, students should pay the replacement cost of the book.
  • The library is open daily from 3:00 till 3:40 PM for students to exchange books or for parents to check out books for their students.
